Airports are such funny places. So many people with nothing to do. From what I can tell my options are: eat, sleep, shop, watch CNN. None of these sounds very appealing.
Oh, and the iPads. Did I forget to mention those? There must be over a 1,000 iPads within a 100 foot radius of me. Enough to outfit an entire school, pretty sure. But most people, including me, are using our own devices. I wonder about the logic. Do people buy more food with the food app than with servers?
Anyway, my bags are checked in, at 44 and 48 pounds respectively. The only second thoughts I'm having are whether I should have brought my bike helmet and whether my book is enough to keep me entertained. For the record, here are my entertainment options:
Paperback: The Bone People by Keri Hulme
In audio format: Being Mortal by Atul Gawande, Fates and Furies by Lauren Groff, The Warmth of Other Suns by Isabel Wilkerson, and A Homemade Life by Molly Wizenberg. (Can you tell I needed to use up my Audible credits before canceling my account?)
Movie: Boy
Food: nuts, twizzlers, an apple, PB M&Ms
Paper: make lists
Computer: write my ethics application for VicU

I write all of this so I can compare it with what actually happens, which will likely be: eat twizzlers, sleep.
What does it say about our world that I can't tell if the TV in the distance is broadcasting updates about a winter storm or a mass shooting?
Any predictions about what I forgot? So far I can't think of anything. :)
